OBJECTIVES

This program develops three essential competencies designed to transform your analytical workflow into a strategic driver of organizational impact. Here are the objectives you will look to accomplish for each competency.

Decision-Driven Analytics

  • Apply the Three-Question Test to decide whether a measure belongs in a KPI dictionary.
  • Construct a seven-field KPI dictionary entry in which the decision is defined before the formula.
  • Classify a KPI as leading or lagging, and define its action trigger and stopping condition.
  • Write a governance note that names accountable ownership, review cadence, change process, and escalation by role.
  • Write a fit-for-use statement that names what the measure is designed to support, at least one use it should never serve, and the data-quality conditions that must hold for it to be trustworthy.

Signal vs. Noise

  • Perform exploratory data analysis and document auditable data-cleaning decisions without hiding real performance variation.
  • Characterize a process using center, spread, and shape with a histogram and summary statistics.
  • Construct and read a Process Behavior Chart to distinguish routine, common-cause variation from a sustained shift, a gradual trend, or an isolated special cause.
  • Determine, for any scenario, whether the process is stable and capable, and recommend a fitting response.

Storytelling with Data

  • Run the audience-first design questions before building a deck.
  • Write a single Big Idea sentence that states what the data means and the action it should drive.
  • Construct a five-slide data story using the Context, Insight, So What, Now What, Supporting Evidence approach.
