Post high school education seems like it's a LONG way off, but it will be here before you know it! Below you'll find information that will be important for your student to continue their education beyond high school.

Oklahoma 529 Savings Plan & Oklahoma's Promise

Do you qualify for Oklahoma's Promise?

Oklahoma's Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be an Oklahoma resident.
  • Must enroll while in the 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade. 
  • Must be a student whose parents' federal adjusted gross income does not exceed:
  • $60,000 with 1 or 2 dependent children OR
  • $70,000 with 3 or 4 dependent children OR
  • $80,000 with 5 or more dependent children.

For: High school students in grades 9–12 (Value: $500)

Has your student taken the ACT or SAT?


The ACT has traditionally been a more common requirement in colleges throughout the Midwest and the South. For students who do better applying what they already know (“book smart” learners), the ACT could be the better option.

Cost: $69 (no writing), $94 (with writing). Fee Waivers are available!


National ACT Test Dates (Registration Deadlines)

December 14, 2024 (Late Registration by November 22)

February 8, 2025 (January 3)

April 5, 2025 (February 28)

June 14, 2025 (May 9)

July 12, 2025 (June 6)

The SAT has traditionally been a more common requirement in colleges on the East and West coasts. The SAT could lead to a higher score over the ACT for students who do better with general reasoning and problem solving. 

Cost: $68 per test. Fee Waivers are available!
