Tennis Group

It has been quite hot as of late (duh). As a result we moved our Mondays and Wednesdays Group Tennis Play to 9-11AM. Satursdays remains at 9-11AM. During Group Tennis Play, we normally do not play competitive sets. We play a rotation format where you rest after you serve, but you seldom sit out for more than 1 to 3 games, depending on the number of players. It is fun. You will meet many fellow Sweetgrass tennis players at all levels, and you can use the time to arrange matches for other times. Questions? Call or email John Harrell (207-838-6524, [email protected]) or Margaret Murray (281-595-1301, [email protected]). See you on the courts.

Sweetgrass Singers

The Sweetgrass Singers return to rehearsals on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 4:30 in the Bluebell section of the ballroom.

Do you enjoy attending the Sweetgrass Singers' shows and would like to be involved but don't think you have the vocal skills? We have an opportunity that might be just right for you. We need someone to help us with sound management by playing the recordings that we sing with. Oftentimes we sing with a piano accompanist, but other times we rely on recordings. It would be most helpful if we could have someone nearby during our shows to "hit the button" and assist with our audio. We would ask that our 'tech' attend one rehearsal a month (Tuesdays, 4:30 pm) to get familiar with the songs and then participate during our dress rehearsals and performances. Our next performance will be on December 3. Some experience or knowledge of sound equipment would be helpful, but training would be provided on our equipment (speakers and microphones, etc.). If this sounds interesting to you or you have questions, please contact Dean Jones, President, at [email protected].

For history and photos of the Singers, please go to mysweetgrass.net, Lifestyle, and continue to the Chartered Club Page.

Sweetgrass Drama Club

Check back here next week to get details on the dates and times of the Drama Club’s auditions for their fall production. Auditions will be held during the first week of August.

He will send you a form to fill out and return. The cost for the engraved brick is $35.00. The deceased must have been a resident of Sweetgrass. The $35 can be paid by family, friends, or neighbors.

How to Submit an Announcement

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for (audience)? Why should they care (benefit)? What do I want them to do (call-to-action)?

Create a great offer by adding words like "free," "personalized," "complimentary," or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
