A Breakdown of ITIL Practice Manager

ITIL Practice Manager (PM) spans ITIL 4 and ITIL (Version 5) and represents the shift from learning ITIL to operationalizing it. It is the pathway for professionals responsible for making practices perform—giving operational managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) the ability to demonstrate real, applied expertise in the areas that determine service quality, speed, and value.

For those who have already completed the Managing Professional (MP) and Strategic Leader (SL) designation streams, this serves as the final step on the path to ITIL Master. The Practice Manager designation focuses on the practices themselves and how to effectively assess and improve their performance.

Each certification within the ITIL Practice Manager stream enables professionals to demonstrate and validate their expertise in practice areas aligned to their roles. These certifications also support the development of cross-practice collaboration and the creation of efficient value streams across the organization. In class, attendees learn how to:

  • Apply practice concepts from both a strategic and day-to-day operational perspective
  • Use practice success factors and metrics to improve performance
  • Measure, assess, and develop practice capability using the ITIL maturity model

As with all ITIL credentials, these certifications satisfy the requirements of PeopleCert’s Continuing Professional Development Program, and extend the renewal date for all of your existing ITIL certifications by 3 years.

To achieve the Practice Manager designation you will need to complete:
