Shirelle Brown’s Credentials: Under the leadership of CEO and Lead Consultant, Shirelle Brown, who holds both an Associates of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is a Life and Annuity Certified Professional (LACP), SBCIS brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. Ms. Brown's background spans over 25 years, including notable roles in project management, budget management, and grant coordination within the government sector.
During her 20+ year tenure with Shelby County Government, Ms. Brown single-handedly managed budgets totaling $1.95 million, distributed among 13 elected Commissioners, in which she also streamlined the county's grant program by implementing FLUXX grant software, processing over 100 grants weekly. The implemented grant program is still being utilized by Shelby County Government for the past 9 years to-date. Ms. Brown is best described as being a "social entrepreneur”, which emphasizes her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to addressing social or environmental issues through innovative and sustainable approaches within the nonprofit realm.
Other extensive experience includes her roles in freelance writing, wholesaling real estate, cosmetology, and political engagement. Since the inception of SBCIS, Ms. Brown has secured over $620,000 in approved grant funding for clients, managed federal grant funds totaling $1.34 million for local grassroots nonprofits, and has served as a business mentor for various organizations to-date.
As a licensed life broker, Ms. Brown has successfully written policies for a diverse clientele since obtaining her license in 2022 and received her certification in Project Management through Shelby County Government during her tenure, which demonstrates her ability to handle service requests for large-scale initiatives. |
