Dear Maine Business Owner,

We are excited to share that we are returning with another joint lakes conference on June 21, 2024, at the University of Maine in Farmington. This all-day event will bring together more than 200 lake volunteers, advocates, and citizen scientists to share experiences, information, and learning opportunities. The conference is once again jointly sponsored by Lake Stewards of Maine and Maine Lakes, both well-known and well-respected state-wide nonprofits that focus on lake conservation and lake health.

The theme of this year’s conference is The Value and Legacy of Maine’s Lakes. Our keynote speakers, Adam Daigneault (Associate Professor of Forest Policy and Economics at the University of Maine) and Melissa Genoter (2024 UMaine graduate) will be our keynote speakers, sharing three years of data they have collected and analyzed related to the economic value of Maine’s lakes. The results are not unexpected: Maine’s lakes contribute $11.8 billion in value to the state’s economy! Sharing this information with lake advocates, so they can pass it along to all levels of decision-makers in their communities, is critical for moving common-sense lake protection policies forward.

Matt Scott, a legend in Maine’s lake community, will be presenting in a plenary session about the legacy of Maine’s lakes and what we need to do to keep from “loving lakes to death”. His extensive experience spanning over 50 years of work in, on, and around our lakes will inspire attendees to take action. Other topics to be presented by an impressive panel of speakers include Maine’s new lake “scorecard”, the impact of emerald ash borer on lake habitats, managing trees in the shoreland zone, overviews of invasive species, and much more.

We would love to include your business as a 2024 conference sponsor. The conference provides a great opportunity for us to share your business with attendees as well as a larger audience of members, volunteers, and friends. We will recognize your business in various ways based on sponsorship level (see reverse for a list of opportunities) and we would be honored if you would consider having an exhibit in the conference space.

Thank you for considering this sponsorship request. We are excited to bring more sponsor recognition to conference attendees and let them know which businesses support clean and healthy lakes and ponds that will be enjoyed for generations to come. We welcome any questions and the opportunity to follow up with you about conference sponsorship.

Sincerely,
