What is Women in the Word?

Women in the Word is an interdenominational women's ministry serving the region of Southern Illinois. In-person events are made possible through donations, sponsorships, and the sale of modestly-priced tickets. Our mission is bringing women together for Bible teaching focused on the fundamentals of being a disciple of Christ. Read our faith statement here.

Who are the speakers for March 2?

Keynote Speaker - Jodi Rosser

Jodi is an author, podcaster, and speaker who helps women grow deeper in their faith and stronger in their relationships. With God's strength, she emerged from miscarriage, divorce, and losing her dear friend to cancer to help women everywhere experience hope, joy, and purpose through life’s unexpected storms.

ROCIO WILLIAMS

Originally from Mexico City, Rocio moved to Marion, IL in 2008. She felt the call to ministry in 2002, and been serving as a local pastor in the United States since 2010.

Her passion is to make the Gospel accessible to all Spanish speakers in the area.

ANGIE BAUGHMAN

Angie is a pastor, Bible teacher, writer, podcaster, creator of the Step By Step Bible study method, and the founder of Steady On ministries.

She is a trauma and abuse survivor who talks openly about overcoming obstacles to live in close connection with Jesus.

What is the study focus?

The speakers will be focusing their messages on Jeremiah 17:7-8

“7 But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. 8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” (NLT)

What is the financial investment?

Event tickets are $25/person and include all event sessions and activities.

Childcare costs are an additional $5 per child.

Optional lunch with the speakers is an additional $7 per person.
