| McPherson students from grades 2nd through 8th are invited to join the McPherson Elementary Youth Orchestra! This wonderful program is designed to be inclusive, and welcome students with different musical backgrounds. Whether your child is just starting their musical journey or is looking to further develop their skills, we have a place for them in our orchestras.
The Beginning Orchestra is perfect for those who are new to string instruments. Here, students will learn the fundamentals of playing, reading music, and understanding rhythm in a supportive and encouraging environment. For our returning musicians, the Intermediate Orchestra offers an exciting opportunity to continue honing their skills while gaining valuable ensemble experience.
Participating in either orchestra not only fosters musical development but also nurtures personal growth, teamwork, and the joy of making music together. We believe that music has the power to unite and inspire, and we are committed to providing a rich educational experience that emphasizes creativity and collaboration.
Students in both orchestras will work toward performance opportunities both at McPherson as well as outside of school with Musical Chairs Studio.

Session dates: January 13 - May 19 No Monday Rehearsals on Jan 20, March 24 and 31 No Thursday Rehearsals on March 27
Rehearsal Day and Time: Beginner Orchestra - Mondays 3:00 - 4:00 pm Intermediate Orchestra - Thursdays 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Tuition: Beginning Orchestra (17 weeks) $300 - Intermediate Orchestra (19 weeks) $340 Tuition can be paid in full with registration or split into two payments with the first payment due with registration and the second payment due by February 28th.
Instrument rental will be available again this year for $100 for the school year. To rent your instrument, download and complete this Form and return it to the school office with your $100 check payable to McPherson Elementary School. The school office will notify Musical Chairs when paperwork is complete and your instrument can go home.
A minimum of 10 students is needed to run each class. Classes will be limited to 25 children. Make-ups are not available for group classes. Students are expected to follow instructions from the teacher and be respectful at all times. Should discipline be an issue we will first reach out to parents. If a problem continues we may regretfully ask students to forfeit the remainder of the session to ensure quality of instruction for all students. |
