Newly Renamed City Council Committee on Children and Youth Services Kickstarts Year with Vital Hearing on DYCD's Family Support Services

City Hall, NY - The Committee on Children and Youth Services, under the leadership of Council Member Althea Stevens, is set to convene an oversight hearing on February 23, 2024. The hearing, titled “DYCD’s Family Support Services,” will delve into the efficacy of the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development’s (DYCD) six crucial family support programs

Scheduled to commence at 10:00am on February 23 at City Hall, the public hearing will explore the following DYCD initiatives:


Council Member Althea Stevens expressed her anticipation for the hearing, stating, “This oversight hearing is an opportunity for us to critically evaluate the effectiveness of DYCD’s family support services and ensure they are meeting the needs of our communities. By engaging with providers and the public, we aim to strengthen these programs and better serve the families and individuals who rely on them.”

The Committee on Children and Youth has jurisdiction over New York City’s youth-related programs, including the Administration for Children’s Services, Department of Youth and Community Development, Inter-agency Coordinating Council on Youth, and Youth Board.
