Enjoy an evening at Hisey Park with the children’s librarian from the Mary L. Cook Library and naturalist Lauren from Warren County Park District exploring lightning bugs! We will read stories about these amazing insects and then try catching them in the park. We will be releasing them before heading home from our night time adventure.
Pre-registration is encouraged but not mandatory. Please dress for the weather, and feel free to bring a bug jar for catching and releasing lightning bugs.

Join us as we experience nocturnal wildlife at Gulley Park! We will discuss the wildlife that come out at night, and hike through the park searching for owls.
Participants should dress for the weather and wear study shoes that can get muddy. We will be walking on trails in the dark and we want to minimize anyone stubbing a toe or tripping on a tree root. You may bring a flashlight, though one is not required, and there will be times we ask for flashlights to be turned off.

Participants should wear close toed shoes and dress for the weather as we will be outside the whole time. This program is recommended for ages 4 and up. Because of the full moon, flashlights are not necessary, but you may bring one if you wish.

Join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony as we officially open the new restoration area to the public. Our education team will be offering guided tours of the area to help visitors learn more about the project and its many benefits.
The Simpson Creek Headwaters Restoration project is a natural stream channel, wetland, and pond system to improve water quality in the Little Miami River Watershed while delivering additional benefits including nature play, nature-based outdoor recreation, educational opportunities, and reduced long-term maintenance cost and flooding risk.

Come learn the basics of flat-water kayaking, from general strokes to proper gear, all while enjoying the nature at Armco Park. This program is led by Ohio Certified Kayak Instructors from Warren SWCD and Warren County Park District. For ages 12 and up (under 18 requires a participating adult to accompany them during the program). Program is FREE but space is LIMITED. *Class has a maximum limit of 10 participants due to instructor to participant ratio* Participants will be in sit-in or sit-on-top, single kayaks.
