Explore the world of monarch butterflies through the book The Monarch by Kirsten Hall. We will bring monarchs at different stages of their life cycle as well as other caterpillars and butterflies that call Ohio home. Children will listen to stories, learn new words, and end with a craft. Caregivers are required to stay in the room during story time.

Join a Warren County Park District Naturalist to search for butterflies that call this park home! Learn to identify the specific habitats butterflies frequent, migration patterns of certain species, and your favorite flying marvels. If you have an insect net, feel free to bring it, and remember to dress for the weather.

Join WCPD Staff and Friends of Warren County Park District to participate in a national fall volunteer event! We will be concentrating on invasive species removal and general park clean-up at a few parks throughout Warren County. You can choose to volunteer at: Armco Park Hisey Park Landen-Deerfield Park
This volunteer opportunity is open to anyone ages 5 and up. The Friends of Warren County Park District are generously providing water and snacks for everyone participating. If you register before midnight on October 18th you will also receive work gloves to keep.

Join us to experience nature at night and discover the magic of hiking at night when the full moon lights the way. We will stick to easy terrain as we watch the full moon at Hisey Park.
Participants should wear close toed shoes and dress for the weather as we will be outside the whole time. This program is recommended for ages 4 and up. Because of the full moon, flashlights are not necessary, but you may bring one if you wish.

Chipmunks are busy scurrying around, grabbing nuts and storing them underground for winter meals. We will use our imaginations to transform into a chipmunk, then use role play to explore how chipmunks live and survive the winter!
