Join one of our community partners, Little Miami Watershed Network, for their 16th Annual Cleanup as they bring together paddlers, residents, businesses, and volunteers committed to protecting one of Ohio’s most treasured waterways. Registration and more detailed information on locations are available on the LMWN website. All supplies needed for floating or walking cleanups are included in your volunteer registration. There are various locations throughout Warren County and Greene County; WCPD is hosting a walking clean-up site at Bowman Park.

Come learn the basics of flat-water kayaking, from general strokes to proper gear, all while enjoying the nature at Armco Park. This program is led by Ohio Certified Kayak Instructors from Warren SWCD and Warren County Park District. For ages 12 and up (under 18 requires a participating adult to accompany them during the program). Program is FREE but space is LIMITED. *Class has a maximum limit of 10 participants due to instructor to participant ratio* Participants will be in sit-in or sit-on-top, single kayaks. All boats, paddles, life jackets will be provided.

Get a sneak peek at the LD Park restoration area! Learn about wetland habitats, the plants and animals live there, and why wetlands are important. Enjoy crafts and the playground while you're at the park. Maybe even pack a picnic lunch!

Come explore Pine Hill Lakes Park to see how many insects we can catch together! We’ll use nets for close up inspection and all insects will be released at the end of the program. If you have an insect net, feel free to bring it, and remember to dress for the weather.

Come explore the creek and look for creatures like crawdads, salamanders, snails, and insect larvae that call our creek home! Kids and parents should wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. Close-toed shoes are recommended to keep feet safe.
Toddler Treks are meant for children ages 2-6 and their responsible grown ups to explore the natural world and develop a sense of wonder about the nature all around them.

Enjoy an evening at Hisey Park with the children’s librarian from the Mary L. Cook Library and naturalist Lauren from Warren County Park District exploring lightning bugs! We will read stories about these amazing insects and then try catching them in the park. We will be releasing them before heading home from our night time adventure.

Join us as we experience nocturnal wildlife at Gulley Park! We will discuss the wildlife that come out at night, and hike through the park searching for owls.
Participants should dress for the weather and wear study shoes that can get muddy. We will be walking on trails in the dark and we want to minimize anyone stubbing a toe or tripping on a tree root. You may bring a flashlight, though one is not required, and there will be times we ask for flashlights to be turned off.
