Hi Everyone

Since it is May now, I thought I'd remind everyone that the high school district tournament is coming up at TTC May 11-13 (that's a Wednesday-Friday). Come out and support our high school athletes! Providing dry courts for districts in May is one of a few ways that TTC supports the promotion of area high school tennis. We also give a support package to local boys and girls teams at the beginning of each season, including a small check to help with team expenses, product donation, and an early season practice session on our indoor courts. This year, through a USTA grant, we were able to provide six one-year junior memberships to kids that otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford a membership. We are also affiliated with the JimSam College Scholarship, an annual award given to a tennis player of high character and achievement.

So come out and root on the teams this May. Happy swinging!

I'll keep it relatively short for everyone this month, and I'll even use bullet points!

New court cleaner. We bought a new court cleaning vacuum to replace one of our 15+ year-old models. It is a huge upgrade, and should help keep our courts more dust-free (our old court vacuums were struggling). This one should be much cheaper to maintain than our older ones, as well.
Save the date for the annual TTC Cookout! July 16 is the date, and we are planning an in-person party at this time. This is a fun event featuring tennis, food, socializing, and music, as well as presentation of the TTC Hall of Fame awards, JimSam Scholarship recipients, and more! Look for more detail next month.
Just a reminder to keep the indoor court doors closed as the weather gets warmer, particularly in 4-6. This will go a long way toward keeping the buildings cool during the hotter days.
The Facilities Committee is considering a handful of smaller projects for the coming year or two, pending budget allowances and such. These projects include new carpet for the lobby and offices, refurbishing or replacing lockers in the locker rooms, and re-staining the building exterior of the wood building. We'll keep you posted on progress.
The new court reservation system and TTC mobile app will roll out to members in late May/early June. Sorry for the continued delay on this. I was hoping for a much earlier unveiling, but there have been delays on the development side.
