The NUNU Arts & Culture Collective thrives thanks to the dedication of its volunteers. NUNU is run by volunteers, including director roles. These passionate individuals, like Charles Chaisson and Kathleen Whitehurst, donate their time and talents to keep this vibrant arts hub running. From managing the residency program to organizing visiting volunteers, and staffing the marketplace,

volunteers are the lifeblood of NUNU.

Their commitment ensures the continued growth and accessibility of arts and culture for all.

Charles is the Residency Team Leader at NUNU.

He is currently teaching a class on perspective.

He has an upcoming exhibit in December. 

He is a former resident of the House of Cards and is in the process of setting up a non-profit that will work in partnership with NUNU, the UL Building Institute, STEAM Park and a variety of other entities.


Kathleen is the Visiting Volunteer Team Leader at NUNU. She is organizing a focus on bamboo in partnership with the Bamboo Society. She is also setting up a studio on the NUNU campus

to create items made from bamboo and sculptures

utilizing bamboo and magnesium.
