Welcome to our new Executive Director, Terry Gladfelter!
Terry Gladfelter joined the PEI staff in July of 2017. His educational career began as a band director in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania in 1978. In 1981, he moved to Broward County, Florida, as the band director for Cooper City High School. In 1999, his career changed to administration while serving as an assistant principal at Flanagan High school in Pembroke Pines, Florida. While in Florida, he met an Iowa girl, Joan, who became his wife of now 40 years. Frequent summer trips to Iowa to visit grandma and grandpa with their four children began the Iowa connection. The family moved to Iowa in 2003, with Terry becoming the principal of Southeast Warren schools. After a brief hiatus from education in 2008, he became the administrator of Victory Christian Academy in Indianola and then joined the PEI staff in 2017.
Terry has degrees from West Chester University, Nova Southeastern University, and post graduate work from the University of Northern Iowa. He still uses his musical ability to teach students and directs the music program at the Indianola Regular Baptist Church. Outside of his PEI duties, Terry enjoys gardening, Christmas decorating, church work, and home improvement projects. He has 4 grown children, 8 grandchildren - all Iowa residents.
