These six 75-minute classes will combine Yin, Yoga Nidra and pranayama (breathing) practices leaving us feeling ultra relaxed, grounded and centered. This is a new level of awareness, influence and CALM.
Proper relaxation is part of a daily pain care plan (which also includes practices to challenge the edge and calm the nervous system).
Proper relaxation is not sleep! Though it may feel like we have drifted into this deep state of repose. It may not necessarily look like a long savasana either.
Proper relaxation should include 3 levels of relaxation:
1️⃣ Physical relaxation where each and every body part, muscle, bone, tendon, joint, bodily system...is resting, exerting little to no effort or energy! And, know that it is good to be aware of this state respite!
2️⃣ Mental relaxation means the mind is also calm and relaxed. Some days it may take a little yoga practice to get us there - that’s fine! We can focus on a soft, slow and smooth breath to help anchor and focus the mind! Like this, the mind becomes less agitated - clear. A clear and calm mind is (more) relaxed!
3️⃣ The third and final level of proper relaxation involves the idea that we have a certain level of conviction/faith that no matter what comes our way, we have all that we need to face and overcome it! Trust that we possess the capabilities, experiences, resources to get ourselves through whatever may come our way!!
This series of classes will get us there!
