UGIC Conference 2026

Join us for the 35th annual Utah Geographic Information Council Conference in beautiful Kanab, Utah!  From seasoned GIS professionals to new and upcoming students, this conference will provide an opportunity to grow your GIS knowledge base and expand your networking reach. Geospatial experts will hold workshops and presentations that are guaranteed to elevate individual GIS cognition in our rapidly changing field. The event is packed full of great presentations, workshops, vendors and opportunities to advance your GIS skills and learn from other GIS Professionals.

The event will be held at the Kanab Center in downtown Kanab. This exciting UGIC destination will provide plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking and enjoying everything Kane County has to offer. Register now!

Lodging Information:

Lodging is open now - We have secured discounted rates at a few of the local hotels near where the conference will be held. There are a limited number of rooms at the conference rate, so please book early. Please click HERE to see available hotels with the conference rate.

Meals at the Conference:

Pre-Conference Training Meals: Lunch and breaks are included in the pre-conference training prices for all who attend pre-con sessions.

Conference Meals:  Lunch and breaks (morning/afternoon) are included Wednesday through Friday. In addition, a vendor social on Wednesday evening with appetizers/finger food, and a dinner on Thursday evening as part of the Dinner and a Show are included with registration.

Conference Swag:

Mystery Item! Make sure to get your fun UGIC item. PLEASE NOTE that only full-conference attendees will be eligible to receive the swag (Pre-Conference-Only or Single Day Registrations will not be eligible).

Student Scholarships: 

Every year, UGIC awards 2 scholarships for students in Utah to attend the annual conference. All current students are eligible to apply, so if you are a student we encourage you to submit an application! More information can be found HERE.

Call For Papers: 

UGIC is now accepting abstract submissions for breakout presentations at the 2026 Conference!

We are proud of the excellent work being done by geospatial professionals in Utah. The UGIC Conference provides an excellent venue to tell your story and share your work. Your content doesn’t have to be ground breaking work and you don’t have to be a polished presenter. This is a conference of laid-back geo-geeks happy to be away from their office for a few days.



The strength of our grassroots GIS organization is found in users helping users as we all become better at what we do. We would like to hear from a variety of colleagues: public and private sectors, tribal, federal, state, and local governments, educators, managers, innovators, beginners, students, experts, and everywhere in between. We want to hear from YOU!  Submit an Abstract!

Getting to the Kanab Center in Kanab: 

To Kanab from Points North:

Take 1-15 South to exit 95 for UT-20 toward US-89/Panguitch/Kanab. Follow UT-20 E to US-89 S. Take a right onto US-89 S. Follow US-89 all the way to Kanab and the conference center.
