Joseph Mondello is a retired Police Detective with more than twenty years of service in New Jersey. His experience spans patrol, anti-crime, criminal investigations, and internal affairs — roles that tested his resilience, integrity, and personal strength.


Outside the job, Joe is a lifelong martial artist and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, channeling discipline and training as tools for mental and emotional balance.


As a co-host of CODE 3, Joe brings raw truth and grounded perspective to the realities officers face both on the job and after retirement. His mission is to break the silence surrounding mental health in law enforcement and help others find clarity, balance, and the courage to rebuild

Michael Runyon is a retired Trenton Police Officer and Detective who served nearly two decades on the front lines of one of New Jersey’s toughest cities. After surviving multiple violent incidents—including an ambush that changed the course of his life—Michael turned his focus toward recovery, mental health, and resilience.


Today, he works as a Peer Support Specialist with Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care and serves as a Master Resiliency Trainer for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.


Through his coaching practice and his company, The Art of Resilience, LLC, Michael supports first responders striving to rebuild their mental and emotional strength. As a co-host of CODE 3, he brings honesty, hope, and lived experience to every conversation.

Jose A. Pantoja is a retired Detective with more than twenty years of service in New Jersey law enforcement. His career began in corrections before transitioning to the Trenton Police Department, where he served in patrol, the street anti-crime unit, juvenile investigations, special-victims investigations, and ultimately internal affairs.


His diverse assignments gave him deep insight into the challenges, Responsibilities, and emotional toll of policing. Now retired, Jose uses his experience to support current and former officers through CODE 3.


He is committed to strengthening the law-enforcement community by encouraging open conversation, sharing wisdom from his career, and offering guidance to those navigating life during and after the badge.
