The Southwest Kids Cancer Foundation is made up of volunteers with the mission to preserve and advance exciting and fun, medically staffed, year-round Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks programs for pediatric cancer patients, survivors and their siblings.

YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED!

Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks:

2025 Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks summer camps are in the books!

Registration for next year will open in early 2026.

Our signature summer camps kick off in June & July of 2026

at Whispering Hope Ranch in the cool and beautiful pines of Payson, AZ

Many volunteers are needed for these 6-day camps to assist with

cabin supervision, camp programs, activities and events, camp planning and more!

Medical training is NOT necessary -- Although we do need nursing staff as well

AND CANNOT LEAVE THE CAMP DURING SESSION AFTER ARRIVAL

Fundraising Committee: This group spearheads our fundraising efforts through events, donation generation and other means. We are looking for individuals who like to do outreach to past, present and future donors and sponsors. We are also looking for individuals who like to create, manage and attend events that help generate funds for our programs. This committee meets every 2nd Thursday of each month at 6pm via Zoom.

INTERESTED OR WANT TO LEARN MORE?

Volunteer & Family Outreach Committee: The goal of this committee is to consistently engage with our current camper-families and volunteers, while also working to increase the number of campers and families involved in our organization. This group works with the Board of Directors and the other committees to recruit volunteer help as needed, plans and organizes opportunities and events for our volunteers and does the same for our campers. We are looking for individuals who are willing to help with tasks and events to further reach new campers through outreach at hospitals, medical offices/facilities, schools and other pediatric cancer organizations. We are also looking for creative and fun ways to bring in new volunteers. This committee meets every 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6pm via Zoom.

INTERESTED OR WANT TO LEARN MORE?

Marketing & Communications Committee: The goal of this committee is to be consistently engaged with our current stakeholders, while also working to increase those numbers to grow all aspects of the organization (campers, volunteers, donors, and general interest). This group works with the Board of Directors and the other committees to create needed marketing pieces and communicate the messages to the appropriate audience. We are looking for individuals who are proficient in reading and writing and have the ability to create flyers and media pieces to share our messages. Additionally, we are looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers who can generate many of our communication pieces in Spanish, to ensure that we are supporting the primary demographics of the Southwestern United States. This committee meets every 1st Thursday of each month at 6pm via Zoom.
