| Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company’s STUDIO TO STAGE initiative was created in 2017 to provide choreographers with a nurturing experience in a creative environment to support the technical aspects of performance. From our dance home on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, we can further our mission to provide a platform for artists. This unique opportunity brings dance makers and lighting designers together to enhance the choreographer’s work.
Choreographers are supported with free rehearsal space, tech time in the studio theater, lighting design consultation, as well as invaluable information about the design process to use on any stage.
Culmination of the STUDIO TO STAGE residency is a showcase performance of the choreographer’s work @theAO Studio Theater along with video archive of the performance.
All choreographers, including those at various stages of their careers, within our BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, and with all levels of abilities are welcome to apply to the residency.
