And when I come across an itinerary that genuinely stops me in my tracks, I feel a responsibility to share it!
I am holding space for just six couples - twelve guests -
to keep every experience fully private, unhurried, exactly as it should be.
What makes this trip truly different is the person behind it. My partner in Africa for all things safari is Bernard Munyanziza, founder of Nziza Hospitality. Nziza Hospitality is a boutique, Africa-based hospitality company with deep roots across East Africa — built on genuine relationships with local communities, conservation partners, and the finest lodges on the continent. Bernard doesn't just book trips; he crafts experiences that few travelers ever find their way to.
I'll be honest with you - when I say personal connection, I truly mean it. We first developed our relationship when I hosted a group in June 2025 through Uganda on an amazing Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trek & Safari.
We started that journey as working partners.....we concluded as dear friends.
Bernard was recently in the United States and he made a special stop in Colorado and we hosted him in our home. We sat around the table together, and we talked about Africa the way people do when they love a place deeply. That kind of friendship doesn't happen in this industry very often, and it changes everything about how a trip is curated.
Bernard will be our personal host for the entire journey — which means we will have someone with us who knows this land, its people, and its rhythms in a way that simply cannot be replicated.
The Journey at a Glance
Your adventure begins in Nairobi, where you'll settle in at the beautifully appointed House of Waine before a private visit to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and an iconic afternoon at Giraffe Manor — where the giraffes have a well-known habit of joining you for breakfast.
From there, you'll fly to the Borana Conservancy in Laikipia — 30,000 acres of spectacular northern Kenya savannah, home to elephant herds, the critically endangered black rhino, leopard, cheetah, and some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Africa, all with Mount Kenya as your backdrop. Days here are filled with game drives, bush walks, horse riding, and a rare look behind the scenes of real conservation work.
Next, you cross into Tanzania, where a stay at Original Maasai Lodge near Arusha offers something genuinely rare: an immersive experience with the Maasai people — visiting local homesteads, learning traditional customs, and ending your evening with a sunset warrior dance under open skies.
The Central Serengeti comes next, and it does not disappoint. Two nights at Lemala Nanyukie place you in the heart of one of the world's greatest wildlife destinations, exploring the Seronera River Valley in search of the big cats and resident herds that call this landscape home year-round.
Then it's on to the Ngorongoro Crater — the largest inactive caldera on earth — for a half-day game drive into what can only be described as a living, breathing wildlife sanctuary. Buffalo, hippo, elephant, and rhino share the crater floor, and a picnic lunch at Ngoitokitok Springs is an experience I hope you'll carry with you for years. You'll stay at the beloved Gibb's Farm, a working farm and lodge on the crater rim that has become something of a legend among those who know it.
The journey closes on the shores of the Indian Ocean — three nights at Baraza Resort & Spa on Zanzibar Island, where the only decision you'll face is whether to walk the white sand beach or simply let the days unfold at their own pace.
