MEET THE STUDENT COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Jade Andrade, Class of 2027

Hello, I’m Jade (she/her). As an aspiring academic clinician passionate about medical education, I am excited to serve on this committee and help shape communication in the Einstein community. I am one of the M.D. Class of 2027 Student Council Co-Presidents and on the executive boards of the Einstein Chapters of the Latinx Medical Student Association and Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association. Before starting medical school, I studied chemistry and scientific computing at Haverford College and worked in drug development and investment at a healthcare technology start-up company. One of my primary career goals is to engage in diverse and inclusive clinical research, ensuring that all communities and lived experiences benefit from scientific progress. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Herman, and working toward completing all 6 World Major Marathons before graduating!

Sammy Cheng, Class of 2027

Greetings! My name is Sammy (he/him), and I am in the Class of 2027. I attended the University of Rochester and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in science (microbiology). I am currently part of the Gendlina research group investigating quality improvement in infectious diseases. My passion lies in the intersection of data science and healthcare, where I aim to apply advanced analytical tools to enhance patient care outcomes. I am also deeply involved in nonprofit work, including contributions to Emergency Project and the ECHO Free Clinic. Outside of academics and research, I enjoy board games and keeping up with the latest trends. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the Student Communications Advisory Committee to help foster and strengthen our community.

Arvind Dev, Class of 2026

Hello! My name is Arvind (he/him), and I am an M.D. student in the Class of 2026. I am from Staten Island, but spent most of my early childhood in the suburbs of Orange County, California. I attended the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, majoring in bioinformatics and minoring in journalism. I currently serve as the Senator for Student Communications & Technology for my class year. My primary goal as a physician is to combine my love for storytelling and story-gathering with my passion for medicine to improve healthcare delivery, access, and equity at the bedside and beyond. In my free time, I enjoy writing and Bhangra dancing. I look forward to supporting the Student Communications Advisory Committee's mission to develop our wonderful Einstein community!

Michelle Lightman, Class of 2027

Hey there! I'm Sharona (she/her), a second-year medical student. I was born and raised in and currently commute from the neighboring borough of Queens. I completed a B.S./M.S. in biology at St. John's University, which included working in a synthetic biology lab while writing and defending a thesis. I'm so grateful to be at Einstein and look forward to writing some fun articles for our first-ever newsletter. One of the main reasons I'm passionate about becoming a physician is to be part of the patient-doctor relationship constructed on solid communication and genuine care. It's an honor to apply these skills to present the student body with all things Einstein.

Leeba Sullivan, Class of 2027

Hi! I'm Leeba (she/her), an M.D. student in the Class of 2027. I am originally from Queens, NY and received my Bachelor's degree in biology from Yeshiva University. I am passionate about serving our Bronx community, and I feel privileged to be involved in the ECHO Free Clinic, where we provide essential healthcare to some of the most vulnerable in our population. I also love education and mentorship and volunteer as a research mentor at Pelham Lab High School. I am also involved in the TEACH Club, which brings engaging and exciting science experiments to children in the inpatient unit at Jacobi Hospital. When not studying, I love spending time with my family and friends, figure skating, or grocery shopping (especially at Trader Joe's.) I am so excited to be a part of the Student Communications Advisory Committee and continue to provide an outlet to further strengthen our community at Einstein!
