The AGM is an opportunity for members to provide input on AMHSA's future goals, engage with our Board of Directors and leadership, and to vote on resolutions (as defined in the Societies Act RSA 2000, S-14).


To ensure we can provide comprehensive information during the AGM, we encourage you to submit any questions in advance. Voting delegate forms and any resolutions for consideration must be submitted by end of day on May 8, 2025.

Attendance


During registration, you may choose to attend in-person at Sherwood Park or Calgary, or virtually via Zoom.


In-Person

Attendees are welcome to join us at either the AMHSA office in Sherwood Park or Calgary


Virtual

Once registered, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the meeting. The meeting will open at 9:45 AM to allow time for attendees to enter before the meeting begins at 10:00 AM. For details on virtual meetings and voting, please see our 2025 AGM Zoom Guide.

This is to give Notice of the 34th Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association (AMHSA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) pursuant to Article 7, Section 7.1 of the AMHSA Bylaws.

 

The 34th AMHSA AGM will be held in a HYBRID format on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

Each Regular Member of the Association shall be entitled to one vote on every matter properly put before members at a meeting for a vote. A regular member includes any municipality which is a corporation pursuant to the laws of the Province of Alberta and holds a valid Workers' Compensation Board account.


The voting delegate of each regular member present at any meeting must be duly authorized to act accordingly by the member the voting delegate represents. 


Pursuant to Article 7, Section 7.5 of the AMHSA Bylaws, notification of the duly authorized voting delegate from each Regular Member shall be submitted in writing to the Chairperson prior to the Annual General Meeting being called to order.

Who can attend?


All AMHSA members are welcome to attend. Voting, motions and seconding are reserved for the authorized voting delegates of regular members. Questions are welcome from all members.

Who is a regular member?


A regular member includes any municipality which is a corporation pursuant to the laws of the Province of Alberta and holds a valid Workers' Compensation Board account.

Who can vote?


Each regular member shall be entitled to one vote on every matter properly put before members at a meeting for a vote. Such matters are to be decided by a show of hands. Voting will be done by Zoom poll for virtual attendees.


The voting delegate of each regular member present at any meeting must be duly authorized to act accordingly by the member the voting delegate represents. Such authorization shall be submitted, in writing, to the Chairperson prior to the opening of the meeting.
