🔥💧September is National Library Card Sign-up Month - Get in Your Element, sign-up for a library card today!  

A library card helps you do more of what you enjoy. Get a library card and dive into a new hobby, or spark your creativity with an adventure. It’s your most important school supply—it's elemental, really—and everyone should have one!

Patrons who sign-up for a library card this September get a FREE drawstring bag. Drawstring bags include information about McHenry Public Library District's top resources. This promotion runs from September 1 - 30. 

Check out more than just books! Our library card holders can also borrow from our collection of CDs, DVDs, magazines, and materials from our Library of Things (which includes STEM kits, WiFi hotspots, and AV digitizing equipment). 

With your library card, you can access our digital collections with services like Libby, Hoopla, and Kanopy for streaming movies and music. eBooks, Audiobooks, and more right from your phone, tablet, or personal computer.

Interested in visiting somewhere new? Begin an adventure at the Library with a Museum Adventure Pass. When cardholders check out materials at the McHenry Public Library this September, they will be automatically entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card from one of the following local businesses: Harms Farm and Garden Center, Epic Deli, Riverside Chocolate Factory or SweetPeas Emporium.

All you need is 1 (one) ID and proof of current address (a driver's license with the current address would provide both.)
