The recent uptick in COVID-19 cases in the Los Angeles area may have you wondering if sending your child to summer camp is the right choice. As parents ourselves, we understand this challenge. As you weigh the pros and cons, consider this:

  • Loyola Marymount University is requiring confirmation of full vaccination status or a negative COVID test result for all Summer Conference participants, including delegates, staff and visitors.

  • For overnight programs, please be prepared to show proof of vaccination for your students during check-in. If the student is not vaccinated, please bring a photo of a negative test result that occurred within 72 hours of first arrival. These results will not be kept on file, only confirmed.

  • For the days-only program, proof of vaccination is required or negative test results on Monday followed by a second negative test result on Thursday.

  • Loyola Marymount University is also requiring masks be worn indoors when in groups of 10 or more. Many of activities are outside or pared down in smaller groups, but for groups of 10 or more indoors, masks will be required. In addition, TACSC will support any student wishing to wear a mask outdoors or in small groups and ensure they feel comfortable doing so.

  • To alleviate any anxiety regarding roommates, we will allow roommate requests again this year. If you have already registered, more information will be available in the next week or so regarding roommate requests.

  • TACSC will maintain healthy practices whenever possible, including having staff provide hand sanitizer before and after each meal. Sanitizer will also be available throughout the conference at general events and in classrooms.

  • We focus on effective communication, time management and real-world planning. We teach the importance of service, developing moral leaders. These skills will help your students be more successful at home, school and wherever the future takes them.

  • TACSC Summer Conference allows students to break up their normal routines, leaving the tablets and laptops behind for active and engaging leadership activities.

  • Attending a TACSC program will help your children extend their networks and meet new people learning the same values they are. Programming supports the mental health challenges young people face and helps students connect with one another.
