Understanding Artificial Intelligence Wednesday, March 26, 2025 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Grand Ballrooms D & E Free |
|
|
Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is when computers and machines are designed to think and solve problems in a way similar to how people do. It’s like giving a computer a little bit of “know-how” to handle certain tasks that we would normally do ourselves.
For example, AI can:
- Talk to you or help answer your questions like when you ask your phone for the weather.
- Recognize faces or voices like when your phone unlocks after it sees your face.
- Help you find the best way to get somewhere like using a GPS.
AI doesn’t have feelings or a real brain, but it uses something called data—lots of information—to learn and improve over time. Imagine training a dog: the more it learns about what you want it to do, the better it gets. That’s how AI works—it learns from past experiences to do its job better. AI is here to assist and enhance your daily life. By understanding its basic functions and benefits, you can confidently explore new tools and discover how they can work for you.
