FOCCUS PRE-MARRIAGE COUNSELORS NEEDED

Killearn uses a survey based program called FOCCUS to help couples

pre-marriage to communicate better.

FOCCUS Facilitators are members of Killearn Methodist Church that prepare couples for marriage. They meet privately with engaged couples several times prior to their marriage to help them celebrate their relationship strengths and communicate positively with each other about issues they may not have thoroughly addressed. As a couple prepares for marriage, the primary goal of facilitation is to help couples talk openly and respectfully to each other about topics that are important to lifelong healthy marriage satisfaction so they can apply that learning towards their future together.

A FOCCUS Facilitator attends and completes a facilitator training workshop, online or in person. FOCCUS Facilitator's certification is sponsored and paid for by the church. If you are interested in becoming a certified facilitator contact [email protected] for more information.

GIVE-A-RIDE TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY

We need volunteers who are willing to pick up those in our congregation who no longer drive. Immediate need is for the 9:30 AM service, but volunteers for all service would be helpful. Call the Church Office at 850-893-1116 and ask to be on the list if this form of service fits!

HEAVEN’S KITCHEN

Our Hospital Meal Ministry and Bereavement Ministry have openings for you wonderful COOKS (Not the “Gordon Ramsey” kind). If you make a wonderful “finger-food” that would be a blessing at a funeral reception, or a lovely, nutritious meal for two – your Killearn family needs you! STEPHEN MINISYERS

Stephen Ministers are members who are selected, trained, and commissioned to provide one-to-one lay caring ministry to people in crisis or with other needs for care. They receive 50 hours of training in order to: Listen, Deal with feelings, Share resources, Remain 'Process-Oriented' not "finding and fixing", Relate assertively, Maintain boundaries, and most importantly - Maintain confidentiality.

Perhaps you're interested in speaking with a Stephen Minister; perhaps you're interested in becoming a Stephen Minister.

Greeters and ambassadors are needed for all services. If you’re willing to help out once a month, please contact our Office Ministry Assistant or call the church cffice at 850-893-1116.

Your church family loves and cares about you. We would love to come and visit with you especially in times of special need. If you would like one of our pastors to visit you while you are recovering at home or while you are in the hospital, please contact Miriam as your earliest convenience.
