It all started 59 years ago, 59 years ago on Thanksgiving in this very building and the story surprisingly and rapidly became a movement! And what a movement it has been! Who knew the events that occurred that fateful day and the year following would ultimately lead to the creation of The Guthrie Center in 1992 and that our mission then, would bring us to where we are today…
As Thanksgiving approaches, we take a moment to reflect on another wonderful year at The Guthrie Center! We owe our successes to the steadfast support of our friends, volunteers, and staff!
As many of you are aware, the church was built in 1866 and requires ongoing maintenance to ensure its integrity. For instance, this year we will need to replace several windows and a door in the church that have deteriorated. Additionally, the sanctuary requires a permanent heating solution to reduce our reliance on costly electric heat and allow the continuation of programs that utilize this space throughout the cold months.
To help secure our future, we aim to achieve a $55,000 fundraising goal this fall and winter, crucial for maintaining our programs, operations and much needed improvement/repairs to our facility. Please consider supporting us through donations or by kindly sharing this page. With your support we can ensure a future for The Guthrie Center that honors its longstanding legacy.
