Scott joined the Orgyen Dorje Den Sangha in September of 1990 and has had the good fortune to receive many empowerments and teachings at the feet of Ven. Gyatrul Rinpoche, the founder of Orgyen Dorje Den, and scores of other Tibetan meditation masters and a handful of Western teachers. From 1996 until 2018, Scott served Rinpoche, and the Sangha, as President of Orgyen Dorje Den and is currently a board member of the Light of Berotsana translation group founded by Sangye Khandro & Lama Chonam, and The Heart Essence Sangha, which manages the teaching activities of Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche in North America
