| Dear Living Springs Church Family,
The Lord has powerfully reminded me of how seriously we need to accept the authority of the Word of God in our lives. I cannot say that I have been thinking along these lines in great detail in recent days, however, last night in two separate dreams, I felt the Lord confirm how important this truth is.
In the dreams, there was a vivid revelation of how people may believe that the Word of God is true, but they take the authority of the Word of God very lightly. In the dreams, there was a lack of respect or reverence for the authority of the Scriptures. The Word of God is the most tangible representation of God himself that we have on this earth. Many of us need to embrace the truth of His Word and come under its authority in a completely new way.
This place of submission allows us to walk in our authority. James 4:7 tells us, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
To the degree that we submit, is the degree that we can resist. Think about this for a moment…
As a church, can we embrace and submit to the authority of God‘s Word wholeheartedly? I know the result will be tremendous freedom and victory in our lives. Let’s have a passion to be obedient to the truth of Scripture as the Holy Spirit is revealing it to us. Let’s be quick to be obedient. I feel the Lord impressing upon me the responsibility to both model this submission to God‘s Word and to teach this simple truth in a new way to our congregation.
