BC 4-H Leaders Council Craft Challenge The Burlington County 4-H Leaders Council Craft Challenge began in 2017. The following year, the Mount Holly Women’s League were introduced to the Burlington County 4-H program by Leaders Council President, Carolyn Shelby. Through their conversations, the League agreed to sponsor the craft challenge for all Burlington County 4-H members to be displayed at the Burlington County Farm Fair.
Beginning in 2019, the League also sponsored a club craft challenge to further generate 4-H members interest in crafting. This humble beginning produced over 200 entries that first year and they were displayed in the 4-H Tent. Since then, the League has generously donated prizes and their time to further 4-H members’ involvement in crafting. Each January, the club leaders select the craft for that year and then the fun begins!
The Best Overall and Reserve Best Overall awards for both the individual and club craft challenges are selected by the League. The awards are announced at the Thursday evening 4-H Award Ceremony held at the fair. League representatives attend to present these awards.
Please stop by the 4-H tent to see this year’s entries!
A very big THANK YOU to the Mount Holly Women’s League from Burlington County 4-H Leaders, members and families for their continued sponsorship of this amazing 4-H tradition. |
