THE CUNNINGHAM LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE
Cunningham UMC is governed by a church council, which comprises the voting body of the charge conference. The council is comprised of two ministry teams: Governance and Discipleship.
The Governance Team develops, coordinates, and oversees the administrative functions of the church. The Team serves as the Finance Committee and the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC). The individuals elected as Finance Chair and SPRC Chair are automatically a part of the Governance Team. In addition, the team liaisons with the Trustees to coordinate their work.
The Discipleship Team develops, coordinates, oversees, and evaluates church ministries to achieve the vision and goals set by the Council. The team is empowered to act within the approved budget.
The Pastor, Governance Chair, and Discipleship Chair serve as the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). The ELT ensures coordination and communication between the two teams and between the Council and the congregation. The ELT also serves as the Nominations and Leadership Development team.
Cunningham UMC’s Administrative and Financial Assistant serves as the recording secretary, maintaining the records and files as provided to him/her by the ministry teams.
