MSgt Richard Hiort, USAF

MSgt Richard Hiort originally hails from Tewksbury, Massachusetts, and entered the Air Force in September 2008. His career spans over 15 years and nine assignments, serving as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer at flight, squadron, and group levels. He has experience working with numerous Air Force weapons systems, including the F-15C Eagle and Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, B-1 Bomber, C-130 Hercules, EC-130 Compass Call, and the CV-22 helicopter.

 

MSgt Hiort has worked in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Allies Refuge during the Kabul Airlift. He spent much of his career working in the Air Force’s Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in avionics under the U.S. Air Combat Command, the U.S. Air Forces Europe and Asia, and the Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, FL.

 

He recently transitioned career fields to serve as a military diplomat at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain. He serves at the Pentagon under the Secretary of the Air Force, International Airman Division. MSgt Hiort also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Maryland and is pursuing a graduate degree in Linguistics from George Mason University.
