Classroom Grant Details

Teachers and students have faced various unprecedented challenges during the last two school years. The Ohio FFA Foundation wants to help! In an effort to further create a culture of inclusion in FFA chapters and encourage student enthusiasm and participation at the local level, the Ohio FFA Foundation will be awarding funds to help classrooms be more innovative, accessible and engaging for Ohio agricultural education students.

Funds raised through the 2021 Ohio FFA Virtual 5K will be given to chapters to purchase technology or digital subscription(s); classroom, lab, and/or shop supplies; curriculum resources; or other tools that will help classrooms be more innovative, accessible and engaging for students.

All agricultural educators in Ohio are eligible to apply for funds. Only one grant will be awarded per school.

Agricultural educators can apply for funds in the amount of $50 - $1,000. All applications are due September 1, 2021. Applications will be judged blindly with identifying information removed from the application to give each applicant a fair evaluation. Grant recipients will be notified by October 5, 2021 and funds will be mailed the following week. Apply to receive funds below or click here.

With the grant funds her chapter received from the 2020 Going the Distance Ohio FFA Virtual 5K, Abby Campbell, agricultural educator at Fort Frye, purchased a laptop stand, ring light, cordless mouse and keyboard, presentation clicker, miniature laminator and sheets, organizer trays and a document camera.

"All of these items are such a big help when it comes to teaching in the classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am thankful to have access to this technology and supplies, so I can continue to teach my students to the best of my ability!"

"I cried when I heard I would be receiving grant funds. I am desperate for new curriculum resources to use under the current circumstances. This grant is such a huge blessing."

"With the grant from the Ohio FFA Foundation, our program purchased a subscription to Peardeck. Peardeck allows the teacher to add interaction to any presentation and lets students see the presentation from their screens. This has been an especially helpful tool for students that were quarantined this year."

"It has been hard juggling between whether we will be in person or virtual week by week. Having the lab materials on hand, purchased with grant funds, were a nice break for the kids to not have to hear 'Log into your laptop and open Google Classroom.' They crave learning through experimentation. We are so appreciative of the participants who made it possible for us to have this opportunity."

Funds from the 2021 Ohio FFA Virtual 5K will once again fund grants for Ohio ag ed classrooms. Sign up today and invite a friend to help us provide additional resources for agricultural educators and students this fall.
