APA is excited to announce the creation of an Asian Pacific Islander (API) Interest Group. The group's steering committee is holding this kick-off event.
- Introductory remarks will be provided by Leo R. Asuncion, Jr., AICP, APA President.
- Hear about the Group’s Goals and learn how to get involved.
- Share your thoughts on how the group can support APA and API planners and communities.
Featured also will be an inspiring conversation with Chancee Martorell, Founder and Executive Director of the Thai Community Development Center, who is a planner, activist, and community organizer in the nonprofit sector. She has worked tirelessly throughout her career on affordable housing development, neighborhood revitalization, small business promotion, immigrant rights, and social justice, and is best known for her work on several human rights cases involving over 2,000 Thai victims of human trafficking within the U.S.
Additionally, help shape the API Interest Group by taking a few minutes to complete a brief interest survey. We will share the general results at the event. By filling out the survey, you'll become a member of this Asian and Pacific Islander Interest Group. Please note that you do not have to be Asian and/or Pacific Islander to become a member or to participate at this event.
