After the success of our Christmas concert, Easton Choral Arts Society is pleased to have added 14 new singers for our spring concert, bringing the group back to our pre-pandemic size. Under the baton of our talented new Artistic Director Alexis Ward we're enthusiastically rehearsing a wide variety of styles with much laughter and camaraderie.
Alexis says: "The April concert "Stand and Sing - a Broadway Cabaret" will feature the great ensemble moments of many all-time favorite musicals. The tables will be turned on concert night as now the ensemble will be the star of the show with four guest professional theater stars serving as the supporting cast. Other solos and duets will be sung by members of the chorus accompanied by piano and percussion.” "Each song of the program embodies the word "STAND." These songs stand for freedom, friendship, revenge, and love and are all about standing up for what's right, for what you believe in, or even just standing up for yourself. Only at ECAS' "Stand and Sing" will audiences get to experience the touching moments, strong convictions, and bold statements of these favorite Broadway numbers on a whole new scale." Join us for a tour of thoughtful, humorous and inspiring chorus songs and solos from well-loved musicals and some shows you'll be meeting for the first time. Shows that will be included are: > A medley from Rogers and Hammerstein shows > Jekyll and Hyde > Dear Evan Hansen > Matilda > Hamilton > Phantom of the Opera > Kiss Me Kate > Les Miserables > Ragtime > Wicked > The Music Man > Sweeney Todd > Shrek > Fiddler on the Roof > Newsies > Sister Act |
