These courses provide the technical knowledge required for the installation, inspection, maintenance or general code knowledge of medical gas and vacuum delivery systems.


The head instructor is Richard L. Miller, ASSE 6050 Medical Gas Systems Instructor with Medical Gas Training, Inc. Richard has more than 35 years of practical experience in the Medical Gas Delivery Systems field.

The Medical Gas Delivery System Generalists (ASSE 6005) is designed for those who need general code knowledge. No pre-requisite experience is required. The cost is $950.00 (includes required codebook, NFPA 99-2024).


Medical Gas Delivery System Installers (ASSE 6010) is a concentrated course providing exposure to all facets of NFPA 99 Medical Gas & Vacuum standard. Candidates are required to have a minimum of four years documented piping experience to take this course. Candidates must have had previous brazing experience. The course length is 3 days and the tuition cost is $1400.00 (includes required codebook, NFPA 99-2024).

6010 with Brazing Supplies and Equipment Rental if not bringing your own. (A list will be provided)

Medical gas installer candidates are required to have a minimum of four (4) years of documented practical experience in the field of plumbing or mechanical piping systems as a pre-requisite.


Medical Gas Delivery System Inspectors (ASSE 6020) are required to have a minimum of 24-hours of instruction. This credential is ideal for government inspectors, construction managers, hospital engineers, project managers, designers and project estimators. Candidates are required to have two years documented practical experience as a government plumbing/mechanical inspector, or administrator of said inspectors, or regularly involved in the design, inspection, or verification of medical gas systems, or be a 6010 Installer. The course length is 3 days and the tuition cost is $1050.00 (includes required codebook, NFPA 99-2024).


Medical Gas and Delivery System Maintenance (ASSE 6040) course is instruction for hospital maintenance personnel who are qualified upon completion to sit for the credential exam. Candidates shall be employed or contracted by a health care facility, be actively engaged in working with medical gas systems, and shall have one (1) year experience in the maintenance of medical gas and vacuum systems.

This course covers all of the basic maintenance requirements for medical gas and vacuum pipeline and medical gas and vacuum equipment. Its overall emphasis on safety will help you to maintain critical life support systems and to maximize efficiency while minimizing exposure. In addition to basic maintenance and repair requirements, candidates will learn of differing and emerging technologies, how to define manufacturer’s test and maintenance requirements, and how to identify all code requirements. Candidates will also receive instruction on what credentials to look for from medical gas contractors and verifiers working in the facility. 

The course length is 3 days and the tuition cost is $1050.00 (includes required codebook, NFPA 99-2024)


6010 Installer with 6020 Inspector or 6040 Maintenance (Note:No Brazing S&E. You must be qualified)
