~Gene Fougner Emmanuel is lucky to have Nancy Johnson exploring our congregation and making meaningful contributions to our spiritual life here. Nancy is a good source for us to learn to understand more about racial issues, having raised a multi-cultural family. She sent in a great list of good reads for Black History Month and Francie added a few too. Nancy also sent a great definition of woke: “awakened to the needs of others. To be well informed, thoughtful, compassionate, humble and kind. Eager to make the world a better place for all people.”
