988 Suicide Helpline

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides 24/7, confidential support for individuals in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. It connects callers with trained counselors who offer assistance, crisis intervention, and resources to help stabilize and improve their mental health.

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care. This best-interest advocacy makes a life-changing difference for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Children in foster care who have a CASA volunteer are more likely to succeed, adjust to change, and they’re half as likely to re-enter foster care.

Center for Hope DIVAS is a group for young women, 12 to 16 years old, who have experienced some type of trauma in their lives. The goal of the DIVAS program is to assist young women in identifying their life goals and preparing them to attain those goals. This is a 30-week program that engages young women in fun activities to teach communication skills, personal safety and conflict resolution while building self-esteem, developing sisterhood and exploring their communities. Activities include workshops on body language and communication as well as field trips.

Hearts & Ears, Inc. is a Trans-led, peer-run wellness and recovery center for LGBTQIA+ individuals in Baltimore city and surrounding counties. It is also the only LGBTQIA+ wellness and recovery center in the state of Maryland. The center is open 32 hours a week and offers a variety of hybrid groups and activities surrounding behavioral health, holistic wellness, daily check-ins, and assist with locating resources. All groups are confidential and are facilitated by LGBTQIA+ peers in recovery.

The NEST

Young People in Recovery 

YPR is a national nonprofit that provides peer recovery support services for youth and young adults in recovery—or who are seeking recovery—from substance use disorder. Programs consist of community-based chapters; life-skills curriculum programs; and advocacy to reduce stigma and create more resources for recovery. YPR embraces all pathways to recovery including 12-step, faith-based, harm reduction, medication assisted treatment, and others.

Maryland Early Intervention Program

The Maryland Early Intervention Program (EIP) offers services to

individuals aged 13 to 30 who are experiencing early signs of psychosis within the last two years. The program provides personalized treatment, including therapy and medication management, and supports families with educational resources. EIP also focuses on educating professionals and community members on early signs and treatment for young people.
