| My Story- When "Routine" Wasn't Routine On July 21, 2020 I went to my 14th annual routine screening mammogram, but this time turned out to be anything but routine. Unlike the last thirteen, I didn't get a little pink "see ya next year" note congratulating me on a normal result. Instead, a call came that changed everything— my mammogram revealed a “suspicious” finding that would later be diagnosed as early-stage breast cancer. With support of amazing family members, friends, doctors and a year of surgeries, chemo and radiation I am grateful to say that I am now one of over 4 Million breast cancer survivors in the United States. A mammogram saved my life -- and could save yours. I’ll say that again, one 30-minute appointment once a year could save YOUR life too. |
