This course is created to provide seven complimentary sessions of guidance and effective tools to place you in the best position to apply and select the best educational program for you.


The Level Up Education League (LUEL) will: 

Guide and advise aspiring graduate school candidates to apply for school 

Create knowledge and awareness of the graduate school application process, and offer the best applicable strategies for the process

Provide a safe space for questions and discussion about applying to graduate school

Motivate and encourage active participation in completing each person’s goals 



Members of the group will aim to: 

Identify and apply to at least 3-5 graduate programs.

Identify and apply for scholarships, internal or external.

Recognize their self-worth and identify their self-confidence to present themselves as the most unique and deserving candidate for the right program of choice.

Work on relevant career development/soft skills for the application process.

Meet the Facilitator

Toni Purvis began her career on Wall Street in Equities at Goldman Sachs, after which she began her own professional development and leadership consulting business. 

She worked as the Assistant Director of Career Coaching at George Washington University, and then as Associate Director of Student Engagement at the GW School of Business, providing professional coaching to graduate students and alumni in both roles. 

More recently, Toni managed multiple career development programs for Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), a non-profit organization focused on increasing ethnic diversity in business sectors. There, she planned, implemented, and executed customized programming for major companies like Google, JP Morgan Chase, American Express, Twitter, American Airlines, LinkedIn, Clorox, Target, KIPP, among others. 

Toni graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Spelman College. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary, and an MBA from George Washington University. Her hobbies include dancing, volunteering, serving as a mentor, and spending time with her family and friends.

The group will meet via video conference, for 90 minutes on Mondays at 6:00 pm ET, starting May 3, 2021. There will be 7 total sessions; exact dates will be announced. 



Each participant is expected to:

Be punctual, to respect everyone else’s time. 

Attend at least 6 of 7 meetings. If you are unable to attend, please send email to teamluel@gmail.com

Participate and be fully engaged with your video on, avoiding the use of phones and/or unnecessary technology to decrease distractions

Come prepared to every meeting with assignments completed

Commit to personal and professional progress and growth

Support, respect, and encourage others in the group, their goals, and their voices; be actively empathetic

Keep all information shared in the group confidential
