NEXT ON GREAT AMERICAN VOICES

Feed My Sheep: A Benefit for Feeding American West Michigan

Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM

Free Admission - An offering will be taken

We close out our 2025-2026 Great American Voices season at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 14, as we present Feed My Sheep: A Benefit for Feeding American West Michigan. The concert, featuring the choirs of First (Park) Congregational Church and All Souls Community Church of West Michigan (Unitarian Universalist), celebrates the excellent work of Feeding West Michigan and supports their effort to keep that work afloat in the wake of enormous cuts in their federal funding.

This concert is offered free of charge. There will be an opportunity to donate to Feeding America West Michigan. All production costs are paid by Park Church and generous individuals committed to supporting accessibility to the performing arts in our community.

The focal point of the concert is the 30-minute work A Vision Unfolding by the composer Kyle Pederson, with spoken word and lyrics by the poet and singer/songwriter Shanelle Gabriel. The work, originally centered on themes of social justice, evolved into the question, “What sort of vision do we want to cast for the audience and the singers?” The completed work re-articulates and explores what the United States has stood for in its best moments, as we find powerful declarations of a nation rooted in equality, freedom, justice, and inclusion.

It is our hope at Park Church and All Souls that we lean into the invitation to reach beyond our comfort zone and seek to build bridges of care and connection. That we stand in solidarity with those whose voices are too often dismissed, regardless of their skin color, sexual orientation, faith background, or other characteristics. That we resist the urge to dismiss, disdain, and judge those whose politics are different from ours, but that we make the uncomfortable effort to see them as people, treating them with respect and dignity. Join us!

Music Ensembles at Park Church (September - May)

Chancel Choir is open to all singers 16 and up. Rehearsals are weekly on Thursdays at 7:30 PM. Chancel Choir is our “flagship” organization, singing almost every Sunday between September and May. Chancel Choir is experiencing a great deal of turnover this season with several of our members moving out of town. So it’s a GREAT time to join us! Contact Patrick Coyle at PCoyle@ParkChurchGR.org to join or for more information.

Jubiloso! (formerly Smith-Dively Ringers) rehearses weekly on Thursdays at 6:30 PM and participates in worship about once a month. If you would like to play handbells either as a member of the choir or a substitute, Contact Kurt Stroh, director, at kstroh@nvps.net for more information.

Camerata Tenor/Bass Chorus (formerly Parkmeisters) rehearses periodically during the season (not weekly). The chorus generally rehearses three times, then sings in morning worship. They also perform in our special Candlelight Christmas and Music Sunday services. This fall we are experimenting with a new rehearsal day/time to allow for musicians to participate in multiple groups if they choose to! Camerata Chorus will rehearse following morning worship from 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM. All are welcome, regardless of gender identity, with the only requirement being that your voice falls in the tenor or bass range. Contact Patrick Coyle at PCoyle@ParkChurchGR.org to join or for more information.

Melodia Treble Chorus is our newest ensemble. Many of our congregation’s singers are partners/spouses with other singers, so Melodia will rehearse simultaneously with Camerata, that is, following morning worship from 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM. All are welcome, regardless of gender identity, with the only requirement being that your voice falls in the soprano or alto range. Contact Patrick Coyle at PCoyle@ParkChurchGR.org to join or for more information.

The Children's Music Program meets in the Children's Worship Center after worship on Sundays from 11:45-12:30. This is a music group geared toward experience (rather than performance) so that kids of all backgrounds and abilities can participate in a way that is meaningful for them. No experience is necessary. Please join us! Contact Rachel Mills at Rachelbrucemills@outlook.com for more information.

Great American Voices is our large-scale concert series featuring national and international vocal music of the highest caliber. Upcoming concerts in this year’s series includes Candlelight Christmas on December 14, Chanticleer on February 27, 2026 and FEED MY LAMBS, a collaborative performance with the Chancel Choirs of Park Church and First Congregational Church of Muskegon benefitting Feeding America and Feeding West Michigan. The details for these events will be released soon!
