Participants will: 1. Gain understanding of sexual trauma. 2. Learn the basics of psychophysiology and neuroscience of the traumatized brain. 3. Gain understanding of the victim vs survival mentality and how to create and support change with a strength based-perspective. 4. Learn how mentors and workers can assist those suffering from sexual trauma. 5. Learn to process the psychological effects due to past incidents, such as residential schools and the Sixties Scoop, etc. 6. Learn about the lack of resources on reserves and where to get the required supports. 7. Learn strategies for holistic intervention and recovery from sexual trauma and other innovative techniques to mobilize clients.
