Entrepreneur Training for Success (ETS) is a 3-month intensive business, workforce, life, and leadership skills course. Taught over 60 hours, ETS strongly emphasizes the fundamentals of micro-entrepreneurship and the basics of financial literacy.

What is ETS?


Entrepreneur Training for Success (ETS) is a FREE 3-month intensive course in business, workforce, life, and leadership skills. Taught over 60 hours, ETS strongly emphasizes the fundamentals of micro-entrepreneurship, combined with the basics of financial literacy.


Each week participants will learn key skills that can transform their idea into a business, including:


  • Time management
  • Marketing and Sales
  • Branding and Communications
  • Accounting and Budgeting
  • Pricing your products & services
  • Registering your business
  • Financing your business
  • Pitching your business to potential partners and investors
  • and much more!


Each cohort consists of:


  • Up to 14 participants

Meet the program trainer! - LaDon Love

LaDon Love is the Executive Director of SPACEs In Action/SIA.


With over two decades of experience in community, leadership, organizational development, and business ownership, LaDon has served as a Lead Entrepreneurship Trainer for the ETS program at the Empowered Women International (EWI) program since 2016.


LaDon is also a published photographer who uses her photography skills to document the work and tell the story of those directly impacted. Additionally, she is the Vice-Chair of the Algebra Project Board of Directors, a board member of Wonders Learning. She received the Shirley Chisholm Leadership and Ms. Magazine Woman of the Year awards. She attended Hunter College.

When do classes start?


Baltimore City Cohort (English Speakers Only)- Starting Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Sessions occur on Wednesdays (and some Mondays) evenings at 6:30 pm.



How much does ETS cost?


Thanks to our generous funder, JPMorgan Chase & Co., there is NO COST for those qualified applicants accepted into the ETS program.



Is there a deadline to apply?


We accept applications for Fall 2023 classes until noon on Friday, September 8, 2023.



How do I qualify?


This program is part of the P.O.W.E.R.- Prioritizing Our Women’s Economic Rise initiative, a three-year project supported by JPMorgan Chase to accelerate wealth creation among Black and Latina women in West Baltimore. To qualify, you must be a woman currently residing in West Baltimore. We will, however, also consider applicants from Baltimore City, MD.

What is the application process?

Because spots are limited, there is an application and selection process to participate in the Entrepreneur Training for Success (ETS) program. The application process is as follows:


1- Submit your application

Check your email! A member of the EWI program team will reach out to you by email within 48 hours.


2- Schedule your interview

If you meet the minimum qualifications, you will be instructed by email to schedule an interview with a member of the EWI program team. The interview will be conducted online via Zoom.


During the interview, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about the ETS program, and we will take some time to learn more about you and your business or business idea.


3- Notification of acceptance

You will be notified by email if you are accepted into the ETS program by Wednesday, September 13, 2023.


*How do I qualify to receive the stipend?


Applicants selected to participate in and complete the requirements of the program as listed in the enrollment documents will receive up to a $1,000 stipend. The purpose of the stipend is to cover potential expenses such as the cost of child care, internet fees, etc., or to supplement potential revenue losses.
