The Object of the Game

Basically, winning is accomplished by THE TEAM that completes the course in the shortest amount of time.

Teams of six players will compete for a win, defined as all six players who complete the course in the shortest amount of time. Each court will be monitored and timed by a referee.

The Playoffs

The top three teams (those that completed the course in the shortest amount of time) will play a final round to determine who takes home the bronze, silver, and gold honors.

Forming a Team

Speed Croquet is a TEAM sport. The competitive possibilities are infinite. For example, Miramonte HS students vs. Acalanes HS students, Wells Fargo Bank employees vs. Mechanics Bank employees, Oakwood Athletic Club members vs. Forma Gym members, or perhaps a 4-way competition amongst the Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Lamorinda Rotary clubs. Get creative. The more teams, the more fun it will be.

Team Types

This event is intended for all that wish to participate. Your team may register in one of two categories.

  • Adult (18+)
  • Family (all ages)

Team Identity

Your team should have a name. Please consider a name for your team and adopt team-identity apparel. Be it vintage croquet togs, Avant Garde togs or just plain cool jerseys…all are good sport! At the end of the day, we’ll recognize teams for their creativity.

Registering a Team

Registration is fast and easy. We ask that you register by April 30. Only the Team Captain, who is responsible for showing up with a team of six players, must register.

As new teams register, we will list their Team Names and Team Captains here.

Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary (LSR)

LSR is part of a network of 35,000 Rotary clubs operating around the world. Rotary clubs are autonomous, each with its own culture. Though every Rotary club is unique, we all share the same purpose: to bring innovative, sustainable change to improve communities worldwide. While our locality is Lamorinda, we also make an impact within Contra Costa County and outside the U.S. - mainly Central America. We gather every Friday at 7 AM at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Building, 3780 Mt. Diablo Blvd. You are always welcome to join us. To learn more about us, please visit our website.

Our Focus On Middle School Programs That Support Wellness

Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary members recognize the crisis in mental health and self-esteem among younger people. The club’s Youth Services Committee has chosen to target middle school-aged children to reach this younger, underserved, and vulnerable community. LSR has supported the Wellness Center at JM Intermediate through funding for audio-visual equipment and the training of a support animal for the center. We also support workshops for counselors and students at the school by individuals and agencies with expertise in the field of teen mental health and wellness.

This year, LSR sponsored a Good Character Awards program in which teachers, faculty, and staff nominated students who had exhibited good character traits, especially those most closely aligned with the Rotary values of Truthfulness, Fairness, Kindness, and Service to others.

LSR plans to expand these programs to more schools next year. In addition, we are seeking new ways to involve young people in positive and constructive behaviors that promote good mental health and wellness. An example of this is our plan to support reestablishing a woodworking curriculum next year at a local middle school.

100% of the amounts received will benefit local Middle School programs that support wellness. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. Tax ID: 68-0367042.

It's going to be great fun. Don't miss it!
