Our Lady of Mount Carmel | St. Gabriel

ChristLife: Discovering Christ is a six-week journey designed for everyone, whether you’re familiar with church or not. It’s an opportunity to explore faith, experience God’s love, build a personal connection with Jesus, and discover how the Holy Spirit can guide you to live a fulfilling life as part of God’s family.

A Typical Session

Discovering Christ consists of six weekly sessions and a retreat day. The weekly sessions include four components: a meal, prayer time, a reflection, and small group discussion.

Meal

The meal is a time to foster relationships and grow in friendship with one another.

Prayer

We will start each session with an uplifting and meaningful prayer, dedicating this special time to our God.

Reflection

The reflection is shared with beauty and simplicity, introducing the core Gospel message.

ChristLife Small Groups

Small Groups

The small groups are a place for people to freely share what they think and feel about the topic discussed.

How do I know that Discovering Christ is for me?

Well, maybe you’re someone who’s spiritual, but has been away from worship for a while.

Maybe you have a relationship with God that you want to deepen.

Maybe you are looking for a faith community or any community.

Maybe you’re a life-long ‘super-Catholic’ who comes every week, following the rules, yet a personal relationship with Christ seems out of reach or even just fantasy.

Maybe you feel the invitation to discover Christ for the first time or in a new way just isn’t for you – or it’s too good to be true.

Maybe you have a distaste for organized religion – after all you’ve seen what the church has done over the centuries, scandals...

Maybe you feel like the Church wouldn’t want you around, after all,

“I’m not even a church person. I’m divorced.

I’m ‘this’ and I’m ‘that’ and I know how the church feels about those things.

You know, my life isn’t on track. A mess, really!

I don’t even know what life is about half the time. I’m not holy.”

Or maybe, you have that simple question just aching to be answered: “what is the meaning of my life?”

So many “maybe’s.”

If this person is you, then Discovering Christ is for you!

Discovering Christ is not about religion. It’s not a catechism class. It’s not about rules and regulations. It’s about you. And it’s fun and engaging.

Give it a try: 6 weeks on a Tuesday evening at 7pm. Come for a meal, listen to a dynamic talk, meet in a safe, non-judgmental small group. Each night is done by 9:15pm. Promise.

And the best part? It’s absolutely free. That’s right. No registration fee.
