PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE by Jerry DeNigris

"It is a great honor and privilege to serve as the incoming President of the Securities Experts Roundtable. I want to begin by thanking Patrick Dennis for his leadership as President and the Board of Directors, committee chairs, and all of our members who continue to contribute their time, experience, and energy to make SER such a unique organization. Our Annual Membership Meeting and Conference in Washington, D.C. brought together an impressive group of securities experts, attorneys, regulators, and other professionals for two days of education, discussion, and, perhaps most importantly, meaningful interaction among our members. The breadth of this year's program was particularly impressive, representing changes that are already affecting the way we work, and the expectations placed upon us as expert witnesses as well as how our success as experts depends not only on our technical knowledge and experience, but also on our ability to communicate that knowledge clearly, objectively, and credibly. My sincere gratitude goes to our Conference Committee, all of our guest and member speakers, and the members who were able to attend. I hope to see you all in New York City in 2027!"

Experts Roundtable Session  

An informal but candid session "give and take" session hosted by Incoming President Jerry DeNigris

From the "New Member/First Time Attendee Breakfast" on Thursday morning, to coffee breaks and meals, including Thursday's Member Reception & Dinner, to our closing night at Joe's Seafood, members made new connections and strengthened existing friendships with colleagues while sharing the common experience of being an expert witness. Special thanks to invited guests and attorneys for attending Thursday's Reception & Dinner. We hope to see all members in New York next year on July 22-23, 2027!

Outgoing President Patrick Dennis called the Annual Member Meeting to order. He thanked all current Directors and Committee Chairs for their time, service and dedication to SER this past year, with a special thanks to Incoming President Jerry DeNigris for steering the Conference Committee. Membership Chair David Hinman welcomed all new members and first time attendees. New members each stood and introduced themselves and their background. Treasurer/Finance Committee Chair Chuck Ranson reported on SER's financial year-end financial statements and solid balance sheet. Executive Director Patti Koetting introduced and welcomed Kara Prifti to the administrative team.

Retiring Directors Charles Bennett and Keith Loveland were honored (in absence) with a plaque for their service on the Board. Charles served three years on the Board, from 2023-2026, and served as Public Relations Chair as well as other committees. Keith also spent three years on the Board, from 2023-2026, and served as SER's Secretary, Audit Chair and Public Relations Chair among other committee participation. Thank you both!

The honor of Director Emeritus, a special designation bestowed by the Board of Directors, was presented to former Directors Geraldine "GG" Genco and Gordon Yale in their absence. GG served four terms totaling 11 years, from 2007-2013 and 2019-2024, and served as President from 2011-2012. She co-chaired three conferences (1998, 2009, and 2011) and served as Treasurer and Secretary. Gordon served a total of 12 years on the Board, from 2007-2013 and 2017-2022. He served two terms as President, 2010-2011 and again in 2018-2019, as well as serving on various committees. We are grateful for your contributions!

Director Emeritus and Past President Bruce Forester was given special recognition and honored with a plaque in appreciation for his distinguished service, dedication and continuing support for SER. Bruce served on the Board from 2009-2017 and as President from 2015-2016. As the Finance Committee Chair for several years, he was a prominent force increasing financial controls and getting SER's Treasury level to withstand a major disruption. He continues to attend and sponsor SER's annual conferences. Thank you Bruce!

Election of new Directors and the President-Elect The Nominating Committee's slate was unanimously approved by the Voting Membership in attendance. Directors immediately added to the Board are Mike Evans and John Ivan, and directors serving a second term are Jefferey Holik and Lori Raineri. Director David Hinman was elected as President-Elect and will preside over the conference in 2027. View the entire Board of Directors.

Concluding the business of the Member Meeting, Patrick Dennis transitioned to Past President and the gavel passed to Incoming President Jerry DeNigris, who will serve for the 2026-2027 session.
