LIGHT UP YOUR FAMILY'S HOLIDAYS THIS YEAR

We are excited to host our famous Luminaria candle-lit walk for 2021, but with a few important changes due to COVID-19. Expect an entirely OUTDOOR event this year!

THE TRAIL AND TREATS

Our mile-long loop trail will be lit by the light of over 1000 candles and multiple light displays for you and your family to enjoy. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Jewett Interpretive Center will be closed during the event.

While there will be no live music, children's crafts, and/or relaxing in the building while the rest of your family walks the trail, the Jewett Interpretive Center courtyard will still be open with fire pits to help you stay warm and Blissful Bites will be selling doughnuts and warm drinks if you need a snack.

Our public restroom near the Rose Garden and portable toilets will be available for your use.

Be sure to dress for the weather and please leave your pets at home! Pets can create a walking hazard for others on the trail.

Only service animals will be allowed at Luminaria.

PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION

Yakima Transit is offering a FREE shuttle from the U-Haul across the street to the Jewett Interpretive Center. You are also welcome to park at U-Haul and walk to the Arboretum.

The entrance drive into the Arboretum will be closed starting at 5:00 PM both nights to all traffic. Vehicles with official Handicap Parking placards or pre-arranged Luminaria Parking Passes can park in designated areas at the Arboretum during Luminaria. But remember, the Jewett Interpretive Center will be closed to the public, so if you are unable to walk the trail you might have to wait for your family to do so from the car.

Please Note: Vehicles will be unable to turn from Highway 24/Nob Hill Blvd into the Arboretum. To access to the Arboretum- turn into the U-Haul parking then follow the shuttle route across at the stoplight and present your pass at the gate.
