Florida Statutes provide that newly elected board members in condominium associations, and more recently in homeowners’ associations, have two options to be certified for board service. One option is that the newly elected or appointed director may submit a certificate of satisfactory completion of the education curriculum administered by a division-approved condominium or HOA education provider. A director who fails to complete one of the two options within 90 days of being elected is suspended from service on the board until she or he complies with this requirement. This requirement may also be completed up to one year before being elected to a board seat. This session fulfills the certification requirements for both condominium and homeowners’ associations. Certificates of completion will be provided.
