A Letter From the President

What a year 2024 has been for your Lee’s Summit Chamber!

As we reflect on this year, I can’t help but be amazed at not only our wonderful community but also the commitment and dedication of our Chamber Board of Directors, how fortunate our community is to be represented by you, our members!

I would be remiss if I failed to acknowledge the numerous Chamber volunteers who have stepped in to assist this year. None of our achievements could be accomplished without the support of our awesome volunteers.

Our Chamber's recent recognition for our third consecutive 5-Star Accreditation from the US Chamber of Commerce just puts a huge bow on the amazing year this has been!

Next year is ramping up to be just as great — with educational programs, advocacy efforts, Leadership Lee’s Summit, professional development opportunities designed to connect people and help businesses grow, and, of course, our events!

From our must-attend monthly luncheons to the celebrations of the year at our Annual Gala, the annual Golf Classic, Oktoberfest and the highly anticipated Women in Business Conference — 2025 is going to be another record year!

Lastly, none of this could be done without the amazing staff this Chamber is blessed to have overseeing it all.

A special 'Thank You' to Megan, Denise, Lisa, Isabelle, Linda, Janet and Rhonda. What a wonderful group of talented individuals I’m lucky to call our TEAM!

Cheers to a successful 2025!

The deadline to sign up for a 2025 Partnership Package is Friday, Dec. 13, 2024

Connecting Our Community

November Highlights

Women in Business Conference

Our 2024 Women in Business Conference was a full day spent polishing potential and revealing the brilliance of more than 150 women leaders.

From our keynote speaker Lori Robertson, we learned that we're already capable of greatness - all we need to do is hone in our authenticity, clarity and community.

From our women's panel, we learned the high-pressure conditions that so often try to break us are what turn us into diamonds. Not just for ourselves, but to help us shine in the lives of others who may need our vulnerability in sharing our stories.

From our breakout speakers, we learned how to overcome mediocrity, provide our teams with feedback that fuels growth, how to master self-leadership in a chaotic world and how to navigate the unique challenges of negotiation.

From each other, we learned that networking is powerful and community is so, so important.

Thank you to all who attended!

Chamber Before Hours: Lee's Summit Social Services Volunteer Project

Our Chamber Before Hours Networking looked a little different this morning! We chipped in to help Lee's Summit Social Services prepare for their busy holiday season by sorting through donated items and setting up stations to display them all.

Through their Christmas program, families who qualify can register as clients to pick out toys, winter clothes and more for their children. People can also register to volunteer or donate.

LSSS Executive Director Megan Salerno was pleased with how much was accomplished by the 20+ Chamber-member volunteers.

"This community is so fantastic," she said.

For more information or to sign up to volunteer or donate, visit www.lssocialservices.com.

A heartfelt thank you to Abundant Life for graciously hosting us and to Longview Funeral Home & Cemetery for sponsoring this event.

We were also honored to have distinguished guests from Whiteman Air Force Base who performed the national anthem and presented the colors, adding to the significance of the day.

A special thank you to our presenting speaker Jacob Greenlief, a Marine Corps veteran who shared his compelling story.

Now part of War Horses for Veterans, Jacob spoke about their impactful mission to help those who have experienced life-disrupting trauma recover, repurpose their talents, and reintegrate successfully into their communities.

We are grateful for everyone who attended and contributed to making this luncheon a meaningful celebration of our local heroes.
