The HBCU AI Conference and Training Summit, scheduled for April 1-3, 2025 is a collaborative effort driven by thought leaders, educators, and industry professionals committed to bridging the gap between Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the field of artificial intelligence (AI). With Huston-Tillotson University leading the charge, this summit provides a premier platform for knowledge exchange and partnership building that enhances AI education, research, and workforce readiness across HBCUs.


The mission of the HBCU Al Conference and Training Summit is to empower HBCUs to become leaders in Al education, research, and workforce development with Huston-Tillotson University leading the way.


The summit aims to:

  • Fostering Knowledge Exchange: Connecting academia, industry, and government for impactful dialogue and collaboration.
  • Showcasing HBCU Innovation: Showcasing groundbreaking AI research centered around the broader HBCU community, including Academia, Community-Based Organizations, Government, Industry and more. 
  • Strengthening AI Curricula: Building partnerships to support HBCUs in expanding AI educational offerings.
  • Empowering Faculty and Students: Equipping HBCU participants with the skills needed to lead in AI-related fields.
  • Increasing Representation in AI: Developing strategies to open doors for underrepresented groups in AI and technology.

The HBCU AI Conference 2025 invites students, faculty, researchers from HBCUs, and industry professionals to share their work in AI. This gathering offers a platform to showcase research, projects, and insights that are shaping the future of AI.

  • Exploring the innovative AI research, tools, and projects emerging from HBCUs and around the world to empower HBCUs.
  • AI Education Access and Workforce Development at HBCUs
  • Exploring how diverse thought leaders and sectors are equipping the generation of HBCU AI professionals.  
  • AI for Social Good and Community Impact
  • Showcasing how HBCUs and leaders in AI use these technologies to drive social change and benefit communities.
