Featuring Grace Norman and Optimus Prosthetics 

This free clinic focuses on basics and performance for lower extremity amputees wanting to improve their running skills.

Paralympic gold medalist Grace Norman will be there to provide instruction for experienced amputee runners who want to improve their technique. Gait specialist and physical therapist Andrea Kinsinger from Optimus Prosthetics will be there to provide training for those interested in beginning running. In addition Kendra Herber, amputee, author, model, and triathlete will also be present participating in the running clinic and presenting signed copies of her book, “Whole: A Leg Up On Life”. Optimus Prosthetics in Dayton, Ohio is the provider for Grace's and Kendra’s prostheses.

The clinic will take place in the McClin Gym at the Nutter Center at the following time: 

Friday, September 17th, 1-3pm

Clinic is free. Deadline for registration is September 3rd. Registration is required.

Optimus patient and 2016 Paralympic gold medalist, Grace is an expert in all things triathalon. She will be coaching and providing instruction for more experienced amputee runners.

Optimus patient Kendra will be present the day of the clinic, participating alonside other patients, sharing her story, and signing copies of her book.

Get to Know Andrea

An expert in her field, Andrea is a licensed Physical Therapist. She received her BS in Physical Therapy in 1986 from Bowling Green State University and the Medical College of Ohio. Andrea has worked with lower extremity amputee patients throughout her career and loves coaching amputees through the process to return to an independent and active life. During our clinic, she will be instructing amputees who are just beginning their running journey. You don't have to be an experienced marathon runner to get started. Andrea will be providing her expertise to all beginners, even if you just have an interst in learning more about running as an amputee and have never run before. Get a glimpse of what it will be like to begin running with Andrea below!
